For this week’s Free Game Sunday, I reviewed a game called ‘World of Tanks’. This is a shooter game where players control and destroy tanks.
When I loaded into the game, I was asked if I was using the correct account and also asked to adjust the size of my screen. It then told me how well the game would likely preform on my device. This was really good as I was then ready to play with my account. When I loaded, I was asked if I wanted to do a tutorial. I decided to complete it. This showed me how to use my tank and what everything in it does. This then meant I was ready to play the actual game. When I was going into my first game, I was asked which tank I wanted to use. After I picked one, I was then sent to my lobby. I found the tank was hard to control because I was using a slow tank. Each tank had different advantaged/disadvantages to make the game interesting.
When I loaded into a game, I was told to wait 2 minutes until I can play. I found this very annoying because there was nothing that I could do. I was just frozen still until the timer reached 0. This would be better if we could move around a small area, so we are not just waiting. I also found that some of my enemies had tanks from grinding that could 1 shot my level 1 tank. This was just annoying because I had no chance of winning. This would be better if there was skilled based match making so my lobbies are not full of overpowered people.
Overall, I rated this game 4/5 stars.
