Hello everyone, welcome to todays video! Today we have taken a look at a game called ‘Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out and recreating the marketing graphic for the video game. This will mark the second episode of a series that I will be creating on the channel, this would involve looking at various retro games and improving the marketing graphics for each of the retro games that I play through.

So, today I played the original ‘Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out for the first time! Purple had also informed me that he used to have to pay 10 pence per go on this game so lets check it out!

My first impressions of the game were rather positive, with the basis of the game appearing simple, alongside the engaging music in the background. It was far more unusual to the games that I am used to! Super Mario Bros is a platform based game that involves multiple levels in multiple worlds. At the end of 4 levels you come across a boss that you will need to conquer.

Another part that I really enjoyed about playing through Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out would be that you could fight one character then progress onto another one that is harder if you were successful with the previous one. I’m not very good at this game, i could even get past the second character but it gave me a good idea as to how hard the game used to be.

After gaining an idea of the game, I was able to conduct some research into the marketing material that was utilised to advertise the game upon release. This then enabled me to Recreate the marketing materials and make them look better, using more modern editing programmes like Photoshop. Whilst designing the front cover for this game, i had come to the conclusion that i wanted to include some of the actual characters that are within the game. Therefore demonstrating part of the gameplay for the target audience.

I hope you all enjoyed todays video, I have really enjoyed editing and recording it. Feel free to comment down below any retro games that you would like to see me recreate marketing materials for. Thank you very much for watching!!
