For this week’s game review, I reviewed a game called Goat simulator. This is a 3rd person simulator where a player can explore and do a wide range of activities.

When I first loaded the game up, I saw that I could select which gammed I wanted to play. This was really cool because it meant that you could play a game mode and map they you liked. However, the game didn’t show me what mode to do 1st. This meant that I had to scroll and test the game modes to see which one I could start on.

This game had a task bar which displayed goals for you to complete. When you complete them you earn points. You can also earn points by doing many other tricks even if they are not your task but you just get less points. There didn’t seem to be anything that the player could do with points however it dopes act as a trophy to show your experience and how long you have had the game for.

When I was completing my tasks, I saw that they game would show me pop up controls. This was really good because it acts as a tutorial, but the player also doesn’t have to be in a certain room/area and they can do it themselves instead of having to watch a character do it.

Around the maps, there are many cool and funny events that could happen. If you stand on a certain speedboat, it will act as a trap and drive you into the ocean and then crash. In addition to this, if I walker onto a firework, I would be blasted in the same direction of which the map is facing. There were also respawn buttons so if you hit a trap, you could just respawn.

When I was playing, I saw that there are events which the player can decide top do. Most of the events are for multiplayer but this means that it provides more entertainment to anyone who is playing with their friends. I did a race competition, but I got lost and never completed it.

In addition, when I was playing, I saw that I could walk into some buildings and break some fences down. This was really cool because it made the game feel a lot more realistic. This meant that you could decide to invade and take over a coffee shop so that you can sell coffee and not a human.

Although this game was really good and fun, the audio seemed broken. I would hear no sound but then at a random point in time, I would hear sound again. This kept happening. This was very unfortunate because the characters should make screams when being attacked and glass would make sense to make a smashing sound when I destroy it. There is  a key-bind to make your goat make a goat sound so this is probably a broken feature that will hopefully be fixed soon in a  update.

Overall, I would rate this game 4/5 stars.
